Saipem said in a statement that it? has agreed to changes in the scope of its work on the existing Gorgon LNG jetty and marine structures project in Australia.
The companyy did not provide any other details.
Saipem, in consortium with Leighton Contractors, has been awarded in 2009 by Chevron the EPC contract for the Gorgon LNG jetty and marine structures project.
The scope of work under that contract included engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning of the LNG jetty and related marine structures for the Chevron Gorgon LNG plant on Barrow Island, 70 kilometres off the Pilbara coast of Western Australia.
The Gorgon Project will develop the Gorgon and Jansz/Io?gas fields, located within the Greater Gorgon area, about 130 kilometres off the north-west coast of Western Australia.
It includes the construction of a 15 million tonne per annum (MTPA) Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant on Barrow Island and a domestic gas plant with the capacity to provide 300 terajoules per day to supply gas to Western Australia.
